Queen City Pride Festival 2023

Explore the rich and often hidden history of 2SLGBTQ peoples in Saskatchewan with historian, Dr. Valerie Korinek. Join us for an hour-long exploration of the history of queer people in Saskatchewan and Western Canada. In this program, Dr. Valerie Korinek will delve into the hidden histories of the 2SLGBTQ community, including the challenges faced, and the contributions made to society. Dr. Korinek will reflect on how she came to write Prairie Fairies, A History of Queer Communities and People in Western Canada, 1930-1985 and the value of including minority communities in Western Canadian history. Participants can join online via zoom or in-person in the RPL film theatre.
